how to crop image to square
- drop an image, or several, on the box above.
- pick a ratio such as 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9, or leave it on free.
- drag on the picture to place the crop box, or type exact x, y, width and height values.
- download the cropped image, or press crop all to get a zip of centered crops.
the square is the most used crop: avatars, marketplace listings, album art and instagram grids all want one. with the 1:1 ratio chosen the tool starts with the largest square in the middle of the photo. drag it to put faces or products where you want them, and make it smaller to zoom in.
for a set of photos, drop all of them and use crop all, which takes the centered square from each. check the results before you publish, because a centered crop can cut off the heads of people who were standing off to one side. a square that is not big enough for the destination can be enlarged afterwards in resize image.
