how to convert pdf to jpg
- drop your pdf on the box above, or click it to choose a file.
- pick a resolution: 72 for screens, 150 for sharing, 300 for printing. set the jpg quality if you want smaller files.
- leave pages blank to convert all of them, or open the page picker and tap the pages you want.
- press convert. one page downloads as a jpg, several pages as a zip.
each page is drawn on a white canvas at the resolution you choose and saved as a jpeg. for sharing on screen or sending in chat, 150 dpi at quality 80 to 90 gives sharp text with files of a few hundred kb per page. for printing, use 300 dpi and quality 90 or higher.
text and line drawings look best as png, because jpeg adds faint noise around sharp edges. photos and scans are better as jpg, which is much smaller. if you only need one page out of a long document, pick it on the thumbnails instead of converting everything.
the browser limits how large an image can be drawn, so very big pages, like posters or maps, are scaled down to about 8000 pixels on the long side. very long documents on a phone may run out of memory, in which case convert in batches by page range.

frequently asked questions
what resolution should i choose?
150 dpi suits screens and sharing, 300 dpi suits printing. higher values create bigger files and take longer.
how do i get several pages?
leave pages blank for all, type a range, or open the page picker and tap the pages you want. multiple images download together in a zip.
is my pdf uploaded?
no. pages are drawn by pdf.js in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere.
what is the difference between 72, 150 and 300 dpi?
dpi is how many pixels are drawn per inch of paper. a4 at 72 dpi is about 595 by 842 pixels, at 150 dpi 1240 by 1754, and at 300 dpi 2480 by 3508. the file size grows roughly with the square of the dpi.
why is my jpg file so large?
pages with photos or dense scans compress poorly. lower the dpi to 150 or the jpg quality to 70 or 80, which usually halves the size with little visible loss.
are the jpgs transparent or white?
white. jpg has no transparency, so the page is drawn on a white background. if you need transparency, use the pdf to png tool.
